The FMMC Foundation converted the 2021 Washington International Competition for Piano to a virtual competition, taking place on June 5 & 6, 2021. Our distinguished panel of judges—Robert McDonald, John Perry, and Simone Dinnerstein—evaluated our fourteen semifinalists and six finalists. These judges selected the finalists’ repertoire from their recorded performances, which were then broadcast to a live audience via Zoom Webinar on June 6, where audiences selected the winner of the $1,000 audience prize in conjunction with the judges’ decision regarding first, second, and third place prizes.
Below are the full performance videos for the 14 semifinalists (including our six finalists). Click here to view to Program Booklet for reference (particularly for the finalists, so you can follow along with what the judges selected to hear during the broadcast). You can also click the timestamps in the video description on YouTube (you’ll need to open the videos in YouTube, not on our website) to be taken to the different pieces and movements.
